Zero Five One Seven Boutique Hotel (0517 Hotel)

I would describe this place more as a phenomenal bed and breakfast than a hotel, etc. Very hospitable and friendly host. They offer an exceptional breakfast which I have not experienced at my previous accommodations. Their place and rooms also have a nice and homely atmosphere with a lobby containing games and inspirational quotes on the walls and a cute cat. They also provide recommendations and guidance on which paths to choose on Mount Huangshan depending on what your goals are. The location is only a 10-15 min walk along the river to the Mount Huangshan shuttle buses which go to the cable cars to start your hike.

I chose the 0517 hotel after reading great reviews, and they were not wrong! Starting with the simple things, the location is so convenient being in the part of town nearest the park’s south entrance. You can walk there in ~15 minutes, passing several options for a street food breakfast along the way. There is also a good selection of restaurants for dinner, and a very nice bakery to pick up snacks for the day. The long distance buses arrive at a bus station a few km away, but the hotel will arrange the pickup for you, free of charge. The hotel’s design in the rooms and shared spaces is very modern & clean, in a style appreciated by westerners. The rooms are on the small side, but have everything you need. Leaving the best point until last – the highlight here is the customer service provided by the owner Timo and his staff. 11/10! Nothing is too much trouble, they will help you with everything from trip planning, to organizing local shared taxi to surrounding areas, to storing luggage, or whatever. On both the nights there, I had a long, friendly chat with him and a couple of others over a drink in the evening. Felt more like being his personal guest than being in a hotel. HIGHLY recommended!

The manager of the hotel went above and beyond to help my friends and I while we were there. He gave us great directions for the area and allowed us to have a great time. The small bar in the lobby also had great drinks and coffee.

We had a great stay at 0512. Good location near many restaurants and shops (recommend Lanzhou noodles on main street). Great room for two with a small balcony. Very friendly staff with excellent English made things very easy. They helped us with a ride to the bus station and arranged a driver to take us back to Huangshan North on way back. Definitely recommended.

We arrived very late at night and the place was closed - had to call the guy on duty to come down and check in for us. But he was kind enough to give us hiking info and entertained us until we're settled down. Bed was one of the best slept in - probably not for those who like soft mattresses tho'. Cafe wasn't open as it was low season, but we could imagine how lively it would become once there are more guests. Very decent place for the money.

We had a wonderful stay at 0517 Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly nice and friendly, making us feel welcome and comfortable. Our room was exactly what we expected—clean, well-maintained. On our first day, the hotel arranged a pick-up from the transfer area, which was a thoughtful and convenient service. The staff helped us plan our first-day activities and mapping out our route for exploring Huangshan. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at 0517 Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The combination of excellent service, friendly staff, and comfortable accommodations made our stay memorable.
